Hello. My name is Joana. I’m thirteen years old. I live in Portugal. I have got pocket money. My mother gives me ten Euros every two weeks. I spend the money in clothes and woman’s accessories. My favourite hobbies are listening to music, surfing the Internet and camping. I like listening to soothing music, I also like rock music. I like being 13 because it is good and I don’t have many responsibilities, but it can also be boring because my parents treat me like a child. I like to be Portuguese.

BEING 13
Hi, my name is Bárbara Barros.
My father gives me 10 Euros every two weeks and I spare some of it.
In the evening, I have to be at home at seven o’clock.
In my free time, I play organ and violin. I listen to music Pop and Rock, but I also listen to classical music and I swim.
During the week I go to school from Monday to Friday. School starts at nine o’clock and finishes at six o’clock.
Being a teenager is good because I’m not a child anymore.
I can’t live without my family and my friends.
I’m proud to be Portuguese because Portugal is small and beautiful.

CITY vs. COUNTRYSIDE (2)
In my opinion the countryside is a better place to live in. I live in the countryside. I don't like the city.
Firstly, I live in the countryside because the countryside is more relaxing than the city. The countryside is calm and quiet. The people in the countryside are happier than who's living in the city.
Secondly, I don´t like the city because the city is noisier than the countryside. The city is dirtier than the countryside. The city is more stressing than the countryside but the city is the most liberal.

ASKING THE WAY
Ms Ferreira – Excuse me. Is there a theatre near here?
Mr Lima – Go along here till you come to a roundabout. Go round the roundabout, take the second turning on the left. Go along this street. Take the second turning on the left, then go along street, go past the chemist’s shop, the police station and bank. Turn left and go under the bridge. The Palace Theatre is on the right.
